Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

1. Overview

TexForge ("we", "our", or "the service") is a free tool that converts plain text resumes into LaTeX code, PDF, and Word documents. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we process, how it is used, and your rights.

2. Data We Process

When you use TexForge, the plain text you paste into the input box is sent to our server solely to generate LaTeX, PDF, and Word output. Specifically:

  • Your resume text is transmitted to our API endpoint over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
  • The text is passed to an AI language model to produce LaTeX code and the rendered documents.
  • Your resume text is deleted immediately after the output is returned. It is never written to a database, disk, or log file.
  • We do not ask for or collect your name, email, or any personal account information.
  • No cookies or tracking pixels are used for advertising.

2a. Data Deletion Policy

TexForge operates on a zero-retention basis for resume content. Your resume text exists in server memory only for the duration of the AI conversion request — typically a few seconds. Once the output is sent back to your browser, the input text is discarded and cannot be recovered by us or any third party. We do not provide a manual deletion flow because nothing is stored in the first place.

3. Third-Party AI Processing

To convert your resume into LaTeX code, we use an AI language model provided through Lovable AI, which utilizes Google (Gemini) and OpenAI (GPT) models. Your resume text is sent to these third-party AI providers as part of the conversion. We recommend you avoid including highly sensitive personal information (e.g. national ID numbers, passport numbers, or financial details) in the text you submit.

3a. PDF Compilation Service

When you generate a PDF, the LaTeX code derived from your resume text is sent to texlive.net, a third-party LaTeX compilation service, to produce the PDF document. This service processes your LaTeX content temporarily and does not retain it after compilation.

4. Local Storage

TexForge saves your theme preference (light or dark mode) to your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

5. Children's Privacy

TexForge is intended for use by students aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our service, please contact us so we can address it promptly.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
